OK, I’m very excited that school is over and that I can finally have a break from studying! Woo hoo! Getting up at around 4-5 am almost every morning became a little…tiring, so I’m enjoying a change of pace. πŸ˜‰

One good quote for this summer that I found interesting is:

Failures, repeated failures, are finger posts on the road to achievement. One fails forward toward success. (Charles Kettering)

I’m thinking I’m a master of failure, because whatever I start doing I often fail miserably, but I continue doing it. πŸ™‚

There is a good book I’m reading as well, written by Chade-Meng Tan, titledΒ  Joy on Demand. I stumbled upon this book by accident during my recent visit to Chapters, which was almost like going to Heaven for me. Chade-Meng Tan was facilitating very popular workshops about happiness at Google, and I mean, come on! Google! That must be good! And the book was great indeed. I like how he promotes kindness and being good. He believes wealth to be a personality multiplier:

“I have found wealth to be a personality multiplier. If you are cruel and unkind, then being wealthy will make you even more cruel and unkind, because you don’t even have survival-related reasons to be nice to anyone anymore. If, instead, you are kind and generous, then being wealthy will make you more so, because wealth provides more opportunities for doing so.” (Chade-Meng Tan, Joy on Demand)

I mean, I always kind of knew it, Mr.Β  Tan, but you put the words right in my mouth. πŸ˜‰
Please read this book; you will find surprising things about joy.

FUN SUMMER THINGS

I’m working on my Little Sharks brand, which gives me a lot of enjoyment. These below are my 3 new prints coming this month to my online shop. Little Sharks have been such a wonderful journey for me; going from selling digital to physical products was a challenging and yet amazing experience. This week I’m introducing a new frame size: 8×10, and I’m going to have them with me at this Saturday’s Craft & Gift Show in Hagersville. They should soon appear online as well. Even though it seems like a small thing, seeing my brand slowly but surely growing little by little gives me a small sense of accomplishment.

SUMMER INSPIRATIONS

This children’s book got me inspired. The illustrations are so beautiful and so full of imaginative creativity that you could just forget about everything else and just dive right into the story. It reminded me of the times when I was little. πŸ™‚

Dashka Slater is the author of the book, with Terry Fan and Eric Fan being the illustrators. Check them out at dashkaslater.com and thefanbrothers.com

To be honest, I really hoped for more free time to work on some apps and practice my programming skills; I especially wanted to become a Processing Ninja… but my dream has to wait. Summer is coming; bringing a lot of work for me as well and I find myself busy working on different projects for clients. That is definitely great too and I am very thankful for that.

Oh, and one more thing- I joined a cult. Yes, you heard me right. I have a new religion: going to the gym. I swear I’m going there religiously. Meet you there!Β  πŸ˜‰
